SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERING / TRANSITIONS THROUGH VOLUNTEERING

If you are dealing with mental illness in your life, and would like to connect with your community, Transitions Through Volunteering can help. TTV Peer Support Workers have all dealt with mental illness in their own lives, and are committed to helping you make volunteering part of your road to recovery, by:

  • Helping you find a volunteer opportunity that meets your goals and fulfills your motivations.
  • Supporting you and the organization you volunteer with to ensure a successful volunteer experience.

  One Volunteer’s Story…
Martine has a history of severe depression, resulting in hospitalization. She left the hospital unsure of where she belonged. At Transitions Through Volunteering, Martine discovered there were others who had experienced mental illness. With the help of a Peer Support Worker, she unearthed an affinity for gardening which led her to volunteer at a local community garden. Martine has found recovery from mental illness is a real possibility.
