Mission Statement

The mission of Regional Parks and Greenways is to protect and care for a legacy of diverse ecosystems, wildlife and features which represent the region and provide outstanding opportunities for outdoor recreation, education and community participation. Regional Parks has the largest membership of any Metro Vancouver function, with voluntary participation from communities extending from Bowen Island to Matsqui Trail. There are now 22 Regional Parks, 2 Ecological Conservancy Areas, 3 Regional Reserves, and 5 Greenways (total = 32) in Metro Vancouver.
